I believe the restructuring of the Fees and Field Restriction in an easier to read /understand format is important so I've copied the following out of our club Rules and Bylaws and added my comments in bold. I do not believe there is any longer a reason to have county border restrictions applied. Just taking these out results in a much easier to read document. I will be interest to see your views at the upcoming meeting at Dales house January 10th. Tom will make an announcement confirming the meeting. VISITING FLIERS AND INVITEES – FEES AND RESTRICTION OF FIELD USE All visitors must have a current AMA card. Maximum flying privileges are 30 consecutive days per year. No foul weather considerations. Visitors requesting longer than 30 days should apply to become members of the club. Twisted Sticks will post at the field 3 access telephone numbers, and information to contact the club via E-mail or through the AMA register. 1. If the visiting flier is a member of a chartered AMA club, with current membership identification, no fees are required. Should we have fees after X number of days regardless? 1b. If the visiting flier is a family member of a flier who is a member of a chartered AMA club, with current membership identification, no fees are required. I separated this making it easier to read. 2. Registered park guests with AMA membership - fees are waived. 3. For all others a current AMA card is required with the following fees. $3.00 per day, $15.00 per week, $30.00 per 30 days 4. For invitees who are a resident of Mason or surrounding counties, without a current chartered AMA club membership a further restriction is imposed, maximum flying time allowed is 2 days, and the inviting club member must be present. I would propose we delete this. All current Twisted Sticks RC. members must join in confirming fliers they don’t know, by requesting proper identification, current AMA license, club affiliation membership and collecting resulting fees. TRAINEES – FEES AND RESTRICTION OF FIELD USE All trainees must have a current AMA card. New flyers (trainees) (if they are Mason or surrounding counties residents) would like this deleted as well - no fees are required based on the presumption that they will become members upon completion of flight training. If new flyer (trainee) is a non-resident, and a family member of a current club member - fees will be waived. Would like this deleted New flyers (trainees) non-residents - fees are required. Would like this deleted Maximum flying privileges are 30 consecutive days per year. Visitors requesting longer than 30 days should apply to become members of the club. Adult $3.00 per day, $15.00 per week, $30.00 per 30 days 19 or under prior to June 1st. $1.00 per day, $5.00 per week, $10.00 per 30 days No foul weather considerations. If they elect to join our club fees paid will be applied to their membership. Any trainee (resident or non-resident) delete in brackets is required to become a club member of Twisted Sticks R. C. to continue flying after the training period has been completed. The boundaries of Mason and the surrounding counties are Lake, Manistee, Oceana and Newago and shall be used to determine residency. Delete this section also Reference section (1) trainees, potential new members must attend a club meeting to be made aware of AMA and club rules pertaining to safety and use of the field. |
